So...Family

It always takes awhile to come up with a subject to post.  Then finally I thought "family, I'll type about mine".  So here goes.

My family consists of my mom, dad, and my sister.  Then if you want to, you can count in the horses, chickens, cats, dog, rat, and guinea pig.

Yes, we have alot of animals.  The two horses are mainly my moms.  We got them Janurary of 2008.  So through those two years we have had five horses come and go.  At the time being we have Thunder and Snap.  The chickens you could say are my dads.  We all help take care of them but he is the main care taker.  I brought home two chicks in first grade and that was the start of our chicken coop.  Cats.  We have four of them.  Two inside and two barn-cats.  Pookah and Sweetie were both rescue cats that we have lovingly taken in to our homes.  Sweetie was born on our back porch and Pookah was found in a camp site on fathers day.  The other two, McGonagal and Migs we recently got from a friend for our barn.  Just today we found them following two walkers down the road.  I have a feeling they won't be living all of their nine lives.  The rat is mine and the guinea pig belongs to my sister.  Both are very loving animals.

My mom  is a very good person.  She has enough energy to last her a life time and is always there for anybody in need.  Several times she has comforted my friends and most of them call her "mommy".  When she first got her horse she was in the pasture and got on Rio (1. Rio was our horse at the time 2. NEVER ride a horse in their pasture).  I was at a friends house and my dad called and said "your mother is in the hospital, pack up your clothes I'm picking you up".  I heard the words mother and hospital and couldn't breath.  I didn't know that all she broke was her coller bone and that she would be alright.  I thought "OH MY GOSH, is she alright what am I going to do without my Mama?".   My mom is a woman that any human should know and though not everyone can, the people that do know her are very lucky.  I am very blessed to have a mom that I can look up to.

I use to look up at my dad and think "is he like Hulk?".  My dad works hours every week sometimes at home and othertimes out of town to support his family.  I can remember countless times when he would come home and pick me up and swing  me like a "potato sack".  I would giggle till i couldn't breath.  He is the person to turn to when your algebra book broke and it needs to be glued together.  Or when the toilet needs plunging and you're too disgusted to do it your self.  I am also blessed to have a daddy that I can literally look up to.

And last but not at all least, my sister.  She is the reason I am who I am.  Without her I don't know who I would be.  Yeah, so we get in fights and I scream at her more than I should; but she still loves me.  We have secret hand gestures that only we know.  At stores or the mall I am always sure I have and eye on her.  My sister is a person that I COULD NOT live without.

So there you have it.  My family, the goods and well, I didn't list any bads.  But anyway, I love them to the core and I will always need them.

Another- this time pertaining to Queen

So, yes I just posted about 12 minutes ago,  but when a thought comes up I have to blog it.  Right?

This time it's the band Queen.  Did you know that they were from the UK?  They formed as a band in 1971 and signed there first press release in 1973.  Yes,  I know alot.  And I have a habit of quoting them on facebook.

I love them.  I want to travel back in time and meet Freedie Mercury.  But unfortunately he died from AIDs in 1991.  I was -4 years old.  In other words I wasn't born yet.  I have an addiction.  You might see me walking around the house with my iPod plugged in and  it is most likely on Queen or Glee (yes I love Glee music, but I don't watch it).

I have a very good freind and she wasn't aloud to listen to any non-christen music until she was 14.  So one her 13th birthday I gave her money and on the card it said "buy Qu_ _n".  Yeah, so they sing about drugs, partying,  and sexy girls but think about it they aren't singing word after word I'm gonna have a G6.  That is just plain BORING and credit to my mom she helped me recognize that.

Pretty much when I'm plugged in Queen "don't stop me now, cause I'm having a good time, having a good time"
-Don't Stop Me Now 1982

"Queen is a CLASSIC and will never die"-my dad

Wishes that won't come true.

Have you ever read a book and thought "wouldn't it be cool to be like him/her".   I have.  Harry Potter books 1-7 have always been my addiction.   I've always wanted to be a witch.  Like Hermione or Ginny.  But I love Luna- she doesn't care who she is or what people think of her.  Sometimes I am slightly "sad" that I will never be able to say "alohamora" and the door unlocks.  I will always be a "muggle".  But, that's OK.  I always tell myself it's just make believe.  But you never know.  There might be some Harry Potter out there fighting for his life and in the end we will never know.

So, except who you are and you will always be happier! AKA more happy.

Random-Harry Potter 7 part 1

For now until I think of a title my post will be called Random.  So,  what is the point of a blog?  Is it a way to vent your emotions or just to talk?  Well, today because I can't think of anything to blog about I'll just talk.

The Harry Potter movie.  Number seven part one.  It was GREAT.  It followed the story line to the core(at least for a movie).  I went to the theater the second night at 7:30 p.m. with a good friend.  After it got done I thought OMG I want to be a wizard(I've thought that before when reading the books).  So the point of this short post is pretty much you are who you are and there is no point in wishing to be who you aren't.

And.  I can't wait for part two!!!

Thanksgiving Bummer

Today is Thanksgiving day. A day where my dad goes to Wisconsin to hunt and my mom, sister and I are at home.   A day where we get together with friends and family.  We eat tons of turkey, stuffing and of course pie.  We think of things to be thankful for and pray.  But this Thanksgiving today is disappointing to my family.

Our original plans:  Go to the local homeless shelter and volunteer at the front desk for four hours so the regulars can have a break to be with family.  We were then going to go to a friends house down the road and eat left overs there.

THEN. . .  Our friend call last night and she told us we can't come. My mother had been sick for a while and has a terrible cough.  She is not sick anymore but still has gunk in her lungs.  So, our friend called and explained that her father-in-law has weak lungs and can catch just about anything.  Her mother-in-law was very worried so we were "un-invited" (though we did invite our selves).  So that was that.

This morning we got up and hurried over to the shelter to run the front desk.  About 20 minutes in (maybe less) the regular worker came in. We decided that four people behind a very small desk was too crowded and we decided to leave.  On the way home we called another friend and asked if we could go there.  Long story short we were told no.

Now we are home and I am blogging my story.  As my blog profile is named I learn throughout life.  Though today was not my dream Thanksgiving I am still thankful for what I do have.  A loving family,  wonderful friends, a warm house and a good education.  I am learning that you do not have to be with other people to be thankful.  Though it might be a bummer life will go on and as my dad says "just hunky dorey"!

Stepping into her shoes

Earlier today my mom and I were driving home and got into a discussion over religion and how it affects our daily life.  We talked about the overall  views of religion in our town.  I got upset with her for expressing her views and I admit I was wrong to jump all over her.  I didn't look at how she thinks of things.  I didn't see how she looks and views religion.  For a long while I acted like a close minded preacher.  I thought I was right and she was wrong; as I do a lot.  After closing my mouth and listening to her I realized that maybe I was wrong.  I listened with both ears and tried to think of myself in her place.   It's hard to do that but I succeeded and I know that I LEARNED something.  I'm not always right and other people go through hard times too.  I have to remind myself that more than twice a day everyday.  I'm learning  to "step into the other persons shoes".
